My journey began much like many of my clients. In 2004, I was 50
lbs overweight and beginning to feel the problems that being overweight brings. I was tired all the time and had
a desk job which caused a lot of the weight gain.
Me 2004

I joined my local 24 Hour Fitness and decided to hire a personal trainer to guide me. Once I realized
where my body fat percentage was, I knew I needed help. Over the course of 8 months, I lost the 50lbs and then some. I began
to talk to my trainer about my possibly changing careers to become a personal trainer. He encouraged me the whole way. I also
spoke to the Fitness Manager at the club, who guided me in the process to become certified. I ordered the
NASM CPT course and studied all through the summer. I passed, got my CPR card and began part time as a personal trainer in
the fall of 2004. In January of 2005 I quit my full time job, dove in to be a full time personal trainer and have not looked
back or regretted my change in careers!
I am always amazed how I can touch and change so many lives. I love my job for many reasons.
The main reason is that I can help them become better people through living a healthier lifestyle.
As a fitness professional, I reach clients on many levels. I try to set a great example through working out and eating
healthy. I help clients become excited about living a healthier lifestyle.
I have my ups and downs
like my clients and am able to relate to them when they have had a bad week with food or are having difficulty getting up
in the morning to to do their cardio. I have been there and can guide my clients through those rough patches we all go
through on our fitness journey.
I work with a nutritionist and even a trainer to keep me on track. Even
trainers need a trainer to help keep us accountable!
I
competed in my first bodybuilding competition, May 2010. I am preparing for 2 more bodybuilding shows, one in April 2011 and
one in May 2011.
